Word Writer - Frequently Asked Questions
Is my writing private and secure?
Yes, completely. The Word Writer is a client-side tool, which means it operates entirely within your browser. All text you write and the auto-save data are stored locally on your own computer. Nothing is ever sent to our servers, ensuring your privacy.
What is the difference between exporting as PDF and TXT?
Exporting as a PDF preserves all of your formatting—bold, italics, fonts, sizes, and layout—creating a visual document perfect for printing or sharing professionally. Exporting as a TXT file saves only the plain text content, without any styling, which is useful for compatibility with any text editor or for pasting into other applications.
How do I start a new document?
To start fresh with a blank page, click the trash can icon () in the toolbar. A confirmation pop-up will appear inside the site to prevent accidental deletion. Confirming will clear the current text from the editor and also from the local auto-save.
Can I recover my work if I close my browser?
Yes. As long as you are using the same browser on the same computer, the auto-save feature will restore your last saved work automatically when you reopen the Word Writer tool.
